From that day until today, more than a million people visit this place of apparition every year! Even though communism ruled over the majority of the population in these regions right at the time of the apparition of the Lady of Medjugorje, that did not prevent this miraculous event from becoming known throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina and later throughout the world.
